January 2026

January landed with a celebratory pop! Happy New Year, will this rain ever stop?
Not to worry, we'll have cross stitch galore, just as soon as Fedex turn up at the door.
The stock has been emptied with the mad Christmas craze, people clamouring to buy presents, grabbing kits in a daze.
But now folks are trying to spend their cash on themselves, and I'm sat here despairing at the sad, empty shelves.
Ah, here at last, a delivery man, I rush out and empty the entire van.
Dispatch all my orders, wrapped up nicely with care, I'm off to the Post Office, they hate me in there!
Back in the office, the emails await, several thank yous, a query and a strange complaint.
This kit is too big, the fabric's not right, it's a pretty pale lilac and I wanted white.
The threads are too soft and the needle too sharp, I can't read the instructions and I don't like the chart.
The design's not my taste, I don't like how it looks, It's not what I wanted, I prefer to read books.
Can you advise me what you think I should do? Yes, choose another hobby, cross stitch isn't for you!
Most people were great and we had a good banter, swapping ideas and hints and enjoying the laughter.
But there's always one person, this time a man, who thought issuing threats was a really good plan.
He was rude and unpleasant and ruined my day, it played on my mind and would not go away.
Happily these things are few and far between, not many cross stitchers are actually mean.
I would say slightly crazy, kind hearted and mad, but you all make my day so it can't be that bad.
That was my January, now in the past, moving through to February, it should be a blast.
So Happy Cross Stitchers, thanks once again
Have a Happy New Year, but I'm sick of this rain!
All the best for 2026!
Happy Cross Stitching!
